  2. Left-wing? No, read it carefully please! It's all in the Bible.... hate, adultery, stoning (only the ..bad one), slavery blessed by God, incest, violence, blood, a pissed off vengeful Almighty, lots of (un)science fiction, etc.

But, those Bible-thumbers haven't read the juicy parts... Not surprising, as they don't have the intellectual integrity to really know what's in their "holy book."

But,we also know that the bullies of the American Taliban are really scared of reality and of any suggestion that there is a different universe than their own delusional myth.

  3. That is a very beautiful thing.

The funny thing is that some of my very best friends are die-hard Christians and it isn't an issue for us. They know that I am an athiest, that I just can't get behind the hypocrisy and lies of any organized religion I've ever seen, and it's OK with them. One of them has a favorite line, "You and I, Larry, we're cut from the same cloth. The only difference is, you're going to burn."

The problem appears when some apparently hate-filled people become organized and have an agenda. When that happens, a handful of pretentious, hyporitical religious zealots have become a threat, a real and actual threat to what I believe is a truely American ideal, and that is Freedom.

By way of example, Freedom doesn't exclude one group from receiving a packaged set of legal benefits, such as in the case of the rights and responsibilities bestowed upon a married hetero couple, any more than it would exclude an interracial couple. It is, after all, a fairly simple legal contract. At least it used to be.

I think it's a healthy thing to show that book for what it is - just a freaking book (a 2,000 year old, poorly-written one at that!).

  4. Ahh, anon, I get it. Your "leftwing hate" is actually a euphemism for facts that you wish weren't true! It all makes sense now. I point out a site that explains what the Bible says, you don't like it, so it is "hate."

I find the Bible quite interesting. I've often wished I could sit down and pull out the things that this site does, so now that I know it is there, I don't have to! It is a tool to use against the evangelical crackheads that have their hands of hypocricy reaching in the policymaking jar.

  5. Ahh, daedalus, I get it. Your "rightwing hate" is actually a euphemism for facts that you wish weren't true! It all makes sense now. I point out a site that explains what the FEC says, you don't like it, so it is "hate."

  6. Rightwing hatred is saying you want the US to deport Muslims by throwing them from a plane without a parachute. Advocating death of certain groups is hate. Guess righties sympathize with Hitler. Must be bad to say he is evil.

Where is this "FEC" site you "point out"?

  7. i thought you would be screaming this one:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2005/05/19/politics/19delay.html?pagewanted=all

since you are trying to get to the "truth" (as you see it) on DeLay

  8. Guess lefties sympathize with Mao, Stalin, and Castro. Must be bad to say they are evil.

  9. They cleared him for 2001 and 2002. He hasn't been cleared for accepting money from the Russian agents in exchange for his vote against the war in Bosnia in 1997 or the Scotland trip, or the Abramoff stuff.

Lefties don't sympathize with dictators. That is the right. You have moldy footballs in your eyes.

  10. you should ask Cynthia McKinney and/or Shelia Jackson Lee (two elected Dem reps) how they feel about Castro...

    lolololol

  11. Oh, you mean that he's not a threat to the US? If you think he's a threat to the US, you need to come back to reality. He's a senile old man who is just waiting to die. Meanwhile, our sanctions are starving the people of Cuba. Nobody "supports" Castro in this country these days. They are just pragmatic in their views on how to deal with the country.

  12. oh, so leftist Dictators get the "pragmatic" label.

    nice/usual leftist double-standard....

Castro kills innocent people you know.

    ReplyDelete
  13. no one said castro was pragmatic. pragmatic are the people who are trying to lift the sanctions so the Cuban people can have economic development.

If you are saying McKinney and Lee are dictators, then you should lay off the crack.

  14. are the people rotting in cuban jails pragmatic too?

    ReplyDelete
  15. they are victims. what do you propose we do, invade that country, too? with what military? ours is in rags. the sanctions haven't freed any of the jailed, but they have prevented economic development. at least we could save some who suffer from their gov rather than making them all suffer.

  16. oh, right, let's just "kill 'em all." i know that is the motto of the right.
