I don't think there's anything that sums up American moral disconnect better than tearing up for guys who bring their dead friend's daughter and son to their gold medal-winning photo, then turn around and laugh with a child rapist while he mocks the women's own gold medal.
Those girls were someone's daughter, too. They were abducted and tortured by wealthy perverts who deserve nothing short of execution.
Pedophilia shouldn't be political. It should be prosecuted, not praised. It should be condemned with every moral fiber of your being, not ignored or shrugged off.
What if were the Gaudreau daughter who was under Prince Andrew in that photo? Would you care then? What if it were your daughter who was electrocuted by Ghislaine Maxwell while a pervert got off? Would you care then?
Does it suck that the team has to make a choice between accepting a White House visit and not going? Yes. But it sucks more that a child rapist who is destroying the country is occupying the People's House. Choosing to ignore it is a massive moral failing.
