Incumbent New Jersey Senator Robert Menedez is behind in recent polls, 48% - 45%. The Dems can't afford to lose a Senate seat they have, so we need to focus on this race in particular, among others like Pennsylvania and Virginia. Menendez may have fallen out of favor with some folks, but right now, the goal is to take back the Senate. Once that is achieved, we can pressure these less-than-ideal candidates into reforming.
I admit I don't know much about Menendez except that some people are unhappy with him. I'm just looking at the bigger picture at this point.
