Today, the U.S. Senate considers a crucial vote that could make a real difference for the world's poorest people. Without our help, an important international initiative called the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria may have to cut life-saving prevention, care and treatment for millions. Also, the Global Fund is an international effort and U.S. contributions challenge other countries to do their share - under U.S. law, the Global Fund does not receive U.S. funding unless each dollar is matched by two dollars from other donors. Remember, AIDS kills 8,500 people every day, TB kills 5,000 and malaria kills over 3,000 in Africa alone - every day.Call your senator and ask him or her to support this amendment- it's one of the few things Santorum is doing right. Santorum-Durbin Amendment
Strange combo, but true. The two Senators have teamed up to fight AIDS in Africa.
