Cheerleading causes pregnancy, dropouts, and STDs

The Texas legislature approved a bill to restrict ''overtly sexually suggestive'' cheerleading in Texas schools. The bill was filed by a Democrat (gasp!), Rep. Al Edwards.
Edwards argued bawdy performances are a distraction for students resulting in pregnancies, dropouts and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.

I would have loved to see the congressmen waving pom-poms on the House floor.

I am glad to see that they have their priorities straight. Forget about improving the schools. Let's just make sure the cheerleaders' skirts are long enough!

  2. Yes, not one of the Dems finer moments. Of course, we could name Dems all day regarding similar legislation. I was surprised because the current momentum is with the gops as far as the "censor this, ban that" legislation goes.

  4. Democratic tolerance of free speech is the reason people like Limbaugh are on the air. If people like psychobitch were in charge, the airwaves would be eerily silent.

  7. Dems have nothing to do with free speech? Try ACLU! You won't find many (any?) gops in there defending your civil liberties!

I am ashamed about Tipper. She must be an awful parent to not be able to teach her kids right from wrong. But, it's just typical of the parental culture in this country. Failure as a parent? Fight for a law to ban something so you don't have to be responsible!
