Has the dumbing down rebounded?

Thanks to Jim Gilliam...
O'Reilly's ratings are in a freefall

A CNN insider wrote in to TVNewser noting O'Reilly's ratings "hemorrhage" since October.

October: 3,166,000
November: 3,080,000
December: 2,610,000
January: 2,478,000
February: 2,391,000
March: 2,320,000
April: 2,178,000
May-to-date: 2,096,000

There is some hope for this country!

  1. they are actually down to where they were prior to the election. people get more interested around election time.

he is still in first place. if you want to talk about "hemorrhage," look at all of CNN's ratings .......

don't fall for numbers. actually think when you see them, it helps.

  2. It is six months after the election, and he is still in a free fall. Six months is a long time in the attention span of the American public.

  3. Also, the numbers are skewed. The anti-Fox thinking populous generally doesn't watch cable news. These numbers are for the last week of April:

ABC is officially #1 for the week of April 25 to 29. "This marks the first time since the week of May 24, 2004 World News Tonight was the #1 newscast in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54," ABC's press release says. Here are the numbers, in total viewers and the 25-54 demo:

    ABC: 8,890,000 / 2.4/10

    NBC: 8,780,000 / 2.3/10

    CBS: 6,850,000 / 1.9/8

Multiply that times four and you can get a relative comparision.

Do you think deriding CNN is an insult? I haven't watched CNN since it turned into a soap opera about a decade ago. Go back to your Faux News Channel and American Idol.
