But the right doesn't understand the Word

David Sirota talks about Bernie Sanders' use of the word "socialist" to describe his politics. I agree with Sanders's use of the word and his politics. I am not sure, however, that it is a good idea for him to claim "independent." Though he will vote with the Dems, it doesn't get us closer to majority. There are many social democrats in the Democratic Party.

Note to righties: Democratic socialism DOES NOT mean a centrally planned economy. It means being concerned about the distribution of wealth in the country. You know, not doing things like cutting food stamps instead of corporate farm welfare.

Social verses individual... concern for others verses selfishness.

The disparity of wealth in this country is sickening, and it shakes the very foundations of this country, which is supposed to be based on equality of opportunity.

Note to righties: When you have to work two jobs to put yourself through night school to get a better job, this is NOT EQUAL to having your parents pay for college and you not having to worry about money. Get it? NOT EQUAL.

We all have to share the planet. Didn't they teach sharing in kindergarden?

  2. that's why i titled it, "but the right doesn't understand the Word."

human beings are better than animals. (well, not the ones who pull out people's guts, fill them with explosives, and blow them up when the family comes to collect the body.)

to have the ability, you have to have the training. to have the training, you have to have the money.

being born with a silver spoon in your mouth isn't ability.
